Its really wonderful to see the festivities which fill up the Indian life - Eid, Navaratri, Bihu, Durga Puja, Dewali in a series... for different communities. The only difference is only the way of celebration. But otherwise, everyone respects the other's festivals, feelings and rituals.
We, Indians spend a lot in festivities - time and resources; but earn even more of emotions, love and relief - relief from day to day humdrums.
The varied festivals gives us varieties, but bestows us with immense oppotunities of communal belongingness, harmony and societal oneness. This is where India is different from most of the western countries or the US, for that matter.
